Quick note. This guide is for planning non-emergency care. ChinaCareBridge is not a medical provider, and all diagnosis, treatment, pricing, appointment availability, and emergency decisions must be confirmed with licensed providers or official channels.
Practical steps
Use these steps to understand the usual route before you choose a hospital, clinic, app, or request personal help.
Step 1
Write the problem in a structured way
Use a simple format: body area, symptom, duration, severity, trigger, prior diagnosis, medication, and goal. Example: knee pain after running for two weeks, want to know whether orthopedics or imaging is appropriate.
Step 2
Separate route type from department name
Some needs are not ordinary outpatient booking. Imaging may need a doctor order; dental may be outside the main hospital system; checkups use package centers; second opinions need records first.
Step 3
Map common issues to likely departments
Skin issues often start with dermatology, stomach and bowel issues with gastroenterology, bone or sports injury with orthopedics, eye issues with ophthalmology, ear/nose/throat with ENT, and child care with pediatrics.
Step 4
Check whether that department works for foreigners
A hospital may accept passports generally but a specific department, doctor, or online route may not be available to foreign passport users. Confirm before paying or traveling across the city.
Step 5
Prepare a backup department or provider type
If the first department cannot handle the issue, ask whether general medicine, emergency, VIP clinic, international department, private clinic, or another specialty is a better starting point.
What to prepare
